What job would you do for free?
It’s a complex concept, the concept of free. I say I would be a servant of God for free, but what part of that is free. First, being a servant of God means doing His will. Help and forgive others, living righteously, rightly divide the word of truth, and loving others are amongst some of the tasks with being a servant to God. Seems like tasks that have no down side. There is a cost tho that most are not willing to pay. We must die to our prior selves. It will cost us our desires and lusts. Make us give up our feeling of control and need for acceptance or approval. You will be hated and go through sufferings incomprehensible by those outside the profession.
What was the initial investment that allowed this position to be made available? That also wasn’t free. The opportunity for us to be chosen for this position was paid for by Jesus when he died on that cross. When he bore our iniquities on his body. When he suffered for all the wrongs that have and will ever be done. He paid the ultimate price so that we can live a better life with an expected end.
I pray you do a true, in depth cost analysis and one day decide to apply for the job. It may not be necessarily free but it’s also something that cannot be bought. Glory be to God. God bless you all
