Cake and eat it too

Are you seeking security or adventure?

Why isn’t this question and/or? There’s adventures people go on that are calculated to minimize risk, still there’s always a chance something can go astray. However, my adventure is a journey to eternity with Jesus Christ. He has laid out all the calculations to make it to that final destination. Yes, there may be detours or obstacles on this adventure but He promises us we shall arrive there as long as we are following Him. Faith in that promise provides the security so that I don’t have to worry about what will happen along the way.

Say you plan a trip, the goal is the destination but there’s detours and traffic. All the unforeseen obstacles that slows the progress may be seen as negative because they are just in the way of getting to where you want to go. On the journey of faith, one can rejoice in such obstacles because they are seen as purposeful or intentional. They are put there to teach, grow, train, and sanctify one for the goal of glorification.

Why not have the cake and eat it too? Life can become a joyful adventure when you put your trust in God. Things that become sacrificed are not necessary for happiness. They were required by our own choice and ask yourself what have they done for you so far. If your journey has been feeling like a lost hike in a dark forest, allow the Creator of the Universe become your guide and see where He can take you. It’s not perfect or easy all the time but the climb to the top of a high mountain yields the best view.

“Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭3‬-‭5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.”
‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3‬:‭15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭28‬ ‭KJV‬‬
