What are you curious about?
Artificial:humanly contrived (see CONTRIVEsense 1b) often on a natural model :MAN-MADE (Merriam-Webster dictionary)
Intelligence:the ability to learn or understand or to deal with new or trying situations :REASON (Merriam-Webster dictionary)
Belief:a state or habit of mind in which trust or confidence is placed in some person or thing (Merriam-Webster dictionary)
What’s is the difference between the intelligence of a robot, that is either inputted by its creator or compiled data from experiences, and the intelligence of a human, that gains intelligence in the same manner? The Artificial intelligence has access to more information from being plugged into the cyber world and can store more information than most humans due to design. How is that information vetted to be true or not? What are the parameters that determine what information an A.I. has is true or not?
Wouldn’t all the knowledge we gain through life in a world created by man, be considered artificial intelligence? If that is the case, where would natural intelligence come from? It would have to be a source outside of man. Can the natural world teach us? Possibly. Should we be like Mowgli and be raised by animals? I’m sure we could learn better ways to be happy from animals, who do not require all that we do for fulfillment in life.
What about gaining intelligence from the Bible? This depends on your faith. Many believe the Bible is also man made. Man made over 1500 years by multiple men and compiled together to tell one congruent story.
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV
All knowledge given in one portion of the Bible can be “fact checked” or confirmed in another writing. Some say the Bible contradicts itself but I believe what is seen as a contradiction is a narrowing down of knowledge to such a specific meaning that is beyond one’s current understanding. There are much bigger contradictions in the man made world that are accepted as knowledge based on a persons choice to accept it as such.
So what is intelligence? I believe intelligence is choice. What one chooses to believe and how to act compiles their intelligence. Who decides whether one’s intelligence is right or wrong? Themselves? Other people? The universe? God? This judgement can only affect the person that chooses to allow it.
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
