Our forever home…

What does your ideal home look like?

An ideal home. A journey through materialism and dreams. Thinking about size and aesthetics, fancy furniture, beautiful decor, bountiful amenities, and the like. All these options nestled into an ideal geographical location that completes all the desires of the heart. All in hopes that the new found humble abode brings joy that lasts longer than the time it took to design. In the end, what makes a house a home? The spirit that fills in the space between the walls. If it’s a spirit of materialism which caused the need for all the objects that fill the space, more and more will be needed like a hoarder of non-necessity. With the Spirit a home can be filled with joy, gratefulness, hope, and contentment. Who is in the home should be more of a priority than the what. Invite the Lord into your home until the day comes that He calls you to His.

My ideal home was designed long ago,

Constructed with gold and precious stone.

Illuminated with a steady glow.

By a Father all will know.

He welcomes all into this place,

Where we will see His face.

Where all tears are wiped away,

No pain is felt Day after Day.

No more sense of urgency,

All can be done inside eternity.

There isn’t a thought of wrong,

All malice is forever gone.

All my neighbors are of the same mind,

Loving, joyful, grateful and kind.

I know I’m not alone,

When I say, I can’t wait to be home.

“I am a sojourner on the earth; hide not your commandments from me!”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭119‬:‭19‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?”
‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭2‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.””
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭7‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭22‬:‭3‬-‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭6‬ ‭ESV‬‬
